The bustle of boats in its harbor and the random mix of stone, this vibrant port city of Riga was established in 1201 by Albert of Bremen, with its geographical location that makes this historic Baltic seaport as important part of trading cities and let Riga had enjoyed rapid economic growth, before the tragic period of World War I. Riga as the capital that always continually inhabited city in Latvia and be one of oldest-city in the country, it sits on the Gulf of Riga in the mouth of the Daugava river where it meets the Baltic Sea and is an arm of the Atlantic Ocean. The Riga city make up with one-third of the population of Latvia be the largest city in Latvia, meanwhile it also the biggest metropolis in the three Baltic states, Riga as perfectly more than blends timeless tradition and highly urbanised architecture of European modernity.

During its tumultuous medieval past, having fought off many civilisations who tried to take control of it, Latvia’s history it has been captured by the German, Kingdom of Sweden, but the most significant that an invasion by Peter the Great of Russia in 1710 and cemented Russian influence on the city. Today, it is considered the Riga’s port facilitates, used by large boats and giant cruise ships that export and transit trade from Russia and Belarus to European ports and beyond; a daily ferry carries passengers and cars to Stockholm. The Via Baltica highway is a major trucking route to Tallinn, Kaunas, and Warsaw.

Latvia was part of many empires throughout history, each of which has left its mark on the Riga city. Even through World War II, devastating fire engulfed the part of the town, the tragedy was redeemed by the combination of an economic and architectural movement that was sweeping across Latvian, it were filled not with the excessive flourishes of late Art Nouveau, but the early movement of graceful architectural with authentic Latvia traditions and rural mythology. As a city full of numerous art nouveau treasures, the combination of 19th century wooden architecture and art nouveau architecture noted for its Jugendstil architecture that make as Riga own distinguishing feature, and the outstanding buildings of the era are found over a third of the buildings.

When the wealth of Riga had grown rich in the 19th century, the led to requests for extravagant new residences, the Art nouveau movement’s golden age coincided with the city’s rapid economic growth. All of the old buildings were renovated to represent the beautiful Art Nouveau style which gave the capital of Riga a very unique setting. Along the city with being among the over 700 art nouveau buildings, it’s more than any other European city and the medieval architecture is original, on whose banks the city stretches so picturesquely. The city’s architecture represents various periods – Romanticism, Gothic, Baroque, Classicism, and Modernism. Although over the last 100 years the demolition of art nouveau structures has been ruthless, but Riga cities have managed to preserve the style as part of their dominant architectural heritage.

Head to the Alberta iela, one of the main streets that has rows of Jugendstil houses, here you can admire the beautifully preserved Art Nouveau row houses and look up to take in the colorful facades, intricate stonework and unusual gargoyles. Stroll around the surrounding streets, one of the densest clusters of architecture of Art Nouveau style in the world, and pop in to the Art Nouveau Museum to see examples of residential interiors from the era. The area around near railroad lines, they are interspersed with industrial plants from different eras, including some from the Imperial Russian era. The Germans’ position as continued through the Imperial period of Riga, visible in some of the architecture of the city. One of the representatives is the “National Opera” (National Opera), first built as the Riga German Theatre in 1863 that were renovated in the 1990s.

You also can same as us go to the Old Town (Vecrīga) as the oldest section of Riga also is the center of the city that has highly diverse architecture, and the majority of buildings have the status of a cultural monument. Although it’s really a city, Old Town beautifully preserved medieval is a town of its own cosseted inside its town is with its narrow cobblestone streets, colorful squares and Medieval-era buildings, and around caught in the curve of the river Daugava. The old town attract us to explore once we enter, this preserved medieval town is full of charm and character, tiny picturesque town that look like they are straight out of a fairy tale dot the area. Mostly of colourful architecture and wood houses, famous for its well-preserved heritage buildings and many elaborate facades in the Jugendstil artistic style, they are linked by a maze of cobblestone streets that seem to be coming incredibly charming.

Old Town is great to explore on foot🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️. Let us relaxing walk along the quaint cobbled streets and feature an urban complex of diverse architecture. The blend of Romanticism, Gothic, Baroque, Classicism, and Modernism architecture let makes it easy to imagine those bygone days. Along with the atmospheric old stone streets and companionable little squares, you’ll find the two main clusters of historic sites lie just a few blocks from each other – which contains the striking 13th-century House of Blackheads, the Town Hall (built in 2003 as a down-to-the-last-detail copy of the 17th-century original). Besides, Riga cathedral is the largest medieval church in the Baltics and the oldest in the country that is very well preserved. It gives us that ancient look that you can only find in some cities and towns in the Old Continent. Visit the one of the many art galleries or history museums in the Old Town, with its own story to tell you. This is only a small part of this fairy-tale town but strolling its streets, you will discover many other hidden places.

In geographic area, Riga is not a small city – it’s just that everything is so close! So Old Town is a better place to savor local life and see its several attractions without lines, complex of numerous different type shop that let us have wandered it for hours browsing and will be tempted to stop at each shops. Sit in a cozy cafe and enjoy a coffee, people watch, have a pastry, listen to the great sound of seagulls and marvel at the sheer beauty of the town. Beside, party in one of the much music clubs and enjoy Riga Black Balsam, Latvia’s national drink. You’ll love it! Wander around the Skarnu Street and visit one of the arts and crafts houses or souvenir stalls, where it is also possible to learn about the city’s rich trade history. In Old Town, enjoy a meal in taverns or hidden restaurants that selling with local, authentic and international dishes, amazing food on every corner. This area around the nearby Freedom Monument, which do double duty as the setting of Riga’s foremost historic sites and the center of its burgeoning nightlife.

With this unique of architecture well preserved and cobblestone streets, that is a mash-up of Medieval and fairy tale vibe of Riga that brings us back to the Middle Ages which is perfectly accented by its amazing food and wine. Old Town is a fairy tale town that you can wander around for hours, falling more in love with it by the minute.

With a city center largely untouched by WW2 bombings that crushed other national capitals, Prague is the best preserved large medieval city in Europe. As we approach Old Town it looks like we are coming up on a giant fairy tale city until we realize it is actually the oldest and most significant square in the historical centre🏛🏰 of Prague with its famous monuments presents itself from a different perspective and unusual angles. We are start off with the city’s biggest attraction in the districts of Hradcany, Mala Strana and Stare Mesto with rich architecture, thriving culture, we stroll down cobblestone streets is surrounded with exquisite historical buildings, alluring architecture, the elaborate city gates , and narrow passageways.
The Quaint Old Town of Prague seems frozen in time, Medieval times that is. The unique architecture of Prague really stands out with the Art🖼🗿 and Architecture of Medieval buildings encompasses many movements, or eras, in art history. Although the Medieval period is complex but through the fabric of the building, we can look at a field for a range of subjects, from complex theological ideas to biblical tales, from whimsical creatures to purely decorative foliate forms. Stroll on Old Town view of the most impressive and eye-catching buildings that can be seen from all over Prague – The Church of Our Lady Before Týn. It is a dominant feature of the Old Town and existed for over a thousand years, building construction was exploited the peculiar shapes of structural elements to create highly expressive forms which feature almost stone structures that classical antiquity of ornamentation coupled with delicate structural forms.

Walk into The Church of Saint Nicholas, a Late-Gothic and Baroque church that FREE🤩🤩🤩 for open to public. The interior is often the marble itself comes from ancient buildings; we look of the great expanses of stained glass showing biblical stories, appreciated to the sculpture on wall surfaces and the elegant of classic style chandelier plus sculpture art of the cramped contours of column capitals. We like to shopping🛍🛍🛍 in the Old Town, on many streets it have shop, boutiques, specialty stores, high street stores, museum and galleries. Walk on the elegant pedestrian boulevards lined with charming plazas and typical porticoes, an attractive shopping avenue of tremendous selection of stores, world-class boutiques and flagship boutiques with great high-end pieces at affordable prices. With offering incredible discounts😍😍😍 at affordable prices plus a stylish and relaxed ambience let us have an easy day trip delightful for buy and pick up what we like😀😀😀. The street also was the center of the city’s urban life with shopping malls🛒🛒🛒, traditional markets and you’ll probably find a hub of authentic medieval goods such as unique clothing, jewellers, weaponry and etc. Simultaneously, you can find a range of items for special souvenir, specialist chocolatiers, fudge shops, coffee shops and even restaurants.

Enjoy food🍕🍖🥞🥗 is part of our lives, so not only simply walk and shopping in Prague and we also like to try some foods. Think for taste a cuisine which is unique to the Prague location that why we walk toward street vendors on the Medieval Street for get an authentic taste of Czech foods. Decision for try a traditionally Prague foods called Prague Ham🥩🥩🥩 for that please our taste buds, it is slowly smoked with beechwood and has the speciality of being cooked boneless. We only order a little amount grams of ham suitable for two person, but stall owner sell us a large slab of ham with a few side order of bread🍞🍞🍞. By the way, the stall owner has told us that the bread can be added without any charge. It’s give us unsatisfied and unhappy😒😒😒 so we inform we only want a little amount of the grams but they say cannot. The total price is 446 CZK (17.29 €)🙄🙄🙄 can thus be greater than a course meal in restaurant.

Simultaneous, we also walk into a shopping mall on the Medieval Street, this retail facility along with shop, cafes🥧🍰, restaurants and food hall. We go into food hall which of a younger generation, new and modern decor with a big open space and open style kitchen. Everything here was so clean and new, offers selections meal for every taste but they more focus on Italian cuisine. All the dishes and price can be clear for read on the menu and the foods at reasonable price. Here we ate the pizza Masheri🍕🍕🍕Tomato Soup🥣🥣🥣 and Polevka Seasonal Soup and the total price 217 CZK (8.41€) . The chefs using fresh and locally ingredients add seasonal food and applying modern techniques to traditional ingredients. All of this made the dishes so delicious!

The Medieval atmosphere in the Old Town certainly brings out sophistication to us…… so it’s no surprise with a refined afternoon tea. We enjoy a delightful afternoon tea in the restaurant chains – McDonald’s. A bright and relaxing spot let us feel truly peaceful for enjoy our selection of sweet treats🥯🥯🥯 plus drinks by plentiful coffee which made with seasonal ingredients. Ok, let us say goodbye to the bizarre atmosphere and enjoy our afternoon tea in this bright and relaxing place😎😎😗.

Old Town the main city of Krakow, packed with historical interest and brimming with welcoming charm, medieval style metropolis influences can be seen over the city. But what we realize is a lifestyle we talking about the art of architecture masterpieces ever produced by humankind. The atmospheric Old Town is leisurely, while take a horse trip🐴🐴🐴 is right of passage for visitors, listening the sound of the yì dēng dēng horse horseshoe and view the surrounding architectural landscape, but It also making pedestrian explorations entirely feasible with easy to cover on foot🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️. Get lost willingly: we strolling down impossibly cobblestone streets with no particular destination in our mind and walk throughtsome of the best and most unexpected gems in this magical city are hidden deep in its folds. Stroll through its charm of shopping streets🛍🛍🛍, look at the various goods in the window and marvel at the beauty of its Gothic medieval. Full of historical heritage and majestic architectural monuments along with priceless cultural treasures, Old Town is one of the pride of Poland.

We never know what unique architectural treasure we will find around the next corner! Wander along the cobblestones and admire the architecture of Gothic Style build on late 13th century Middle Ages, a destination rich in everything that a food, antique stores, galleries and boutiques🏬🏬. Hidden alleyways and charming streets characterize the Old Town, so be sure to spend some time wandering through them, trendy shops. This city to be one of the beautiful medieval-tinged metropolis with well preserved example of a medieval Central European trading city, which mean we can view of the art galleries🖼🎨🖼, music venues🎵🎶🎵, theaters, centuries-old churches, merchant houses, hotels, restaurants and myriad shops.

We walk through the door of a bakery🥐🥐🥐, this bakery shop in Krakow is small but certainly squee as many people in as possible being one of the popular spot in town! They have a lot of delicious and different flavors of bread, the most important thing is that the price is cheap😍😍, the price is so cheap, if not buying a few pieces to try it seems to be a bit unreasonable! Ok, lets us taste the bread, Oh! The taste is so yummy yummy…. Ok, just imagine an absolutely delicious chocolate🍫🍫 bread that will melt in our mouth, all are dense and delicious😋😋. The most important thing is that it is the taste is not that sweet Wao, we can’t go wrong with them.

Start our explorations at the Old Town to enjoy artisanal crafts and browse local artworks. Walk around constantly looking forward, captivated by the 13th century wall encompassing small part of Old Town, which compete with each other to touch the sky. While Krakow’s medieval city walls🏚🏚🏚were largely demolished and save the part with the main gate, its adjoining towers and Barbican. A passageway used in the medieval times, the Krakow Barbican was once a small fortress connecting St. Florian’s gate to the outside world. It also has kept 13th and 16th century of the Brama Florianska gate with a rectangular Gothic tower of wild stone and the baroque roof. Walk to a oldest park which are part of the Old Town city lifestyle, we wander up to the 18th century fortifications for the views and be sure to immerse our self in the Middle Ages atmospheric.

We nosing around in its cobblestoned and find for an interesting cuisine🍽🍴🍽. Krakow, this makes for a well-developed Poland cuisine to try, we stopping at one of the restaurant along busy Old Town streets. Let our eye and mouth get another feel of medieval from a different perspective when enjoy cuisine in the middle ages of building. Located right at the corner in Krakow Old Town, restaurant adding a bright and hip interior to the 13th century building. The restaurant are not truly medieval and the décor is simple, with large tables guests can share with strangers, or you can sit on the smaller one to enjoy Polish cuisine.

The menu amidst offering variety culinary with dedicated to different specialties Polish cuisine and seasonal produce. Order it like the locals by asking for a “Devil’s Steak baked with cheese”🥩🧀🧀. Basically bread featuring a thick crunchy crust which stuffed with cheese and meat add different favor herb. If you same as me is a cheese lover, you’re lover this salty cheese which is delicious served with baked. Sure enough, didn’t take the wrong name, and it really fascinated you like the devil. Wah😲😲, taste with cheese is melts, sure, but not in a stringy and nearly toasted, adds a totally welcome salty bite. This dish is look like simple, but the taste is tasteful and rich, and filling as well as utterly delicious😋😋! Enjoy with the other cuisine under the chef recommended name as “Pork chop Calvados in apple sauce🥩🍎🍎, potato rosettes”. Poland’s chefs are always offering new twists on old favorites Polish foods. They like to cook Polish dishes it revolves around using local ingredients and seasonal produce to elegant dishes, at the same time unique twist of new found ingredients. The dish is thick pork then typically grilled served hot and the meat is fresh and juicy😍😍, covered in creamy gravy and plated with apple. In a concoction of the Chef specialist sauce drop on the pork chop, ok a delicious combination of flavours and textures. It seems that the two kinds of sauces that do not match the wind do not know why the chef’s clever combination has completely erupted its essence. Just one mouthful and I will find ourself craving more and more, mouth-wateringly good🥰🥰🥰. It is eaten fresh and warm and It’s incredible!

oups🥣🥣🥣 can be found on pretty much every Polish menu, and they’re anything but run-of-the-mill. Order and try two different flavor of traditional Polish soup. We try a soup which name as” Zapadnia” simply means red borscht, soup of this kind look like a red wine🍷🍷🍷, it has a rich bouquet and its characteristic delicate flavor of natural sweetness. Enjoy another traditional Polish dish soup is “Rosol”, a kind of Polish broth, is a not-thickened clear soup made with chicken meat and bones with add in a home-made traditional Polish pasta. So the taste of this soup is salty. It is eaten fresh and warm and would be nice during winter season. However all of these dishes remains surprisingly affordable🤑🤑🤑, with these meals only costing 36 PLN (8.3€).
